Synopsis

In the shadowy alleys of 19th-century London, a tale of revenge and dark humor unfolds in "Sweeney Todd," one of Stephen Sondheim's most acclaimed masterpieces. Wrongfully exiled barber Sweeney Todd returns to seek vengeance against the vile Judge Turpin, who framed him and shattered his family. Sweeney’s path intertwines with Mrs. Lovett, an eccentric owner of a struggling pie shop. Both of their fates merge as Todd's quest for justice takes a gruesome and deadly turn. Todd's barber razor becomes an instrument of revenge, and the victims of his wrath find a shocking second life as the secret ingredient in Mrs. Lovett's suddenly popular meat pies.
